Ride the hill and feel the thrill at Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster!
Where else can you ride the hill and feel the thrill? Only at the original Alpine Coaster of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This is the longest downhill ride in the USA with over 1 mile of track!
For those of you who don’t know about Alpine Coasters, let me tell you about it. The coaster is a contoured, plastic sled with a back and a roll bar. It is attached to a dual metal track. The plastic sled is designed to carry one or two people safely up the hill. Then, let gravity take you quickly down the hill. With the hill in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains your speed can reach up to 27 miles per hour, and your ride down will be a thrilling experience. The track is designed with lots of curves and ups and downs. Yet, you control your speed with a hand brake. The hand brake is there so that you can travel quickly or control your speed.
Riding the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is an absolute “must do” when you visit the Great Smoky Mountains. It is great fun for the entire family and little ones can ride with an older sibling or their parents. Once you are at the bottom be sure and check out the merchandise and take home a T-shirt, cap, tank shirt, and other goodies.
